Margarita is a Caribbean island of Venezuela, located at the Northeast of Caracas, the country's capital, within a 35 minute flight, or a couple of hours by ferry from Puerto La Cruz or Cumana. It is one of the most tourist places in Venezuela.

Margarita is well known for the quality of its beaches. Being an island, it is surrounded by beaches, and there is one for every taste. You can find a beach with or without waves, large or small, crowded or not, deep or not, cold or warm, windy or not, just select what you want, and you've got it.

Margarita est reconnue par la qualité de ses plages. Étant une île, il y en a partout, et pour tous les goûts. Des plages avec ou sans vagues, grandes ou petites, avec beaucoup de gens ou désertes, profondes ou peut, froides ou chaudes, avec ou sans vent, simplement choisissez ce que vous voulez, et vous l'aurez.

Pampatar
This bay is dominated by the Castle of Pampatar. Shared between fishermen and swimmers. Calm waters with no waves. Ideal for a quick bath or with small children.

La baie de Porlamar est dominée par le Château de Pampatar . de Pampatar. Il y a des bateaux de pêche. Aux eaux tranquilles, sans vagues, cette plage est idéale pour y aller avec des enfants.

Playa Guacuco
One of the fine beaches in Margarita: close to Porlamar, coconut trees, not as crowded as other beaches north, with waves. An excellent choice, you should try it.

C'est une des belles plages de Margarita. Près de Porlamar, avec des cocotiers, haute concurrence (en saison), mais moins que dans les plages du nord. Vagues. C'est un bon choix à ne pas rater.

El Tirano
A relatively small beach, but very pleasant and not so crowded. The best part is used by the guests of the Barceló Pueblo Caribe hotel.

C'est une plage pas trop grande, très agréable avec peu de personnes. La meilleure zone est utilisée par les hôtes de l'hôtel Pueblo Caribe.

Playa Parguito
Nowadays one of the fashion beaches. Smaller than Playa El Agua, nice waves, it is the surfer's choice. Very good restaurants and kiosks with unsalted water showers.

C'est une des plages à la mode. Plus petite que "El Agua", avec des vagues, c'est la préférée par le fanatiques du Surf. Il y a de très bons restaurants, kiosques avec douches et parasols.

Playa El Agua
This is Margarita's classic beach. Preferred by many. Very long. A round trip walk from one end to another can take more than one hour. Water sports. Definitely a "must'. However, beware it is a dangerous beach.

C'est la plage classique de Margarita, la plus connue et la favorite de beaucoup. Très longue. Sports aquatiques. Pour la recourir d'une extrémité à l'autre il faut plus d'une heure, aller et retour. Vous ne pouvez pas quitter Margarita sans la connaître. Mais faites attention, c'est une plage dangereuse.

Playa Manzanillo
A fishermen bay that is starting to be used more and more by beach lovers. Not so crowded and very pleasant. Similar to Puerto Cruz.

C'est une baie de pêcheurs qui commence à être utilisée par les touristes. Peu de personnes, très agréable.

Playa Puerto Cruz (Isla bonita - Dunes)
Close to the village of Pedro Gonzalez, is located this fine beach. It serves one of Margarita's best hotel and resort. Not so crowded with facilities and water sports.

Dans la proximité de la ville de Pedro González, se trouve cette belle plage, aux vagues moyennes, qui sert un des meilleurs hôtels de l'île. Loin des foules, avec des kiosques et des sport aquatiques.

Playa Caribe
One of the fashion beaches. Close to Juangriego. Waves and nice restaurants.

Une des plages à la mode. Près de Juangriego. Bonnes vagues et bons restaurants.

La Restinga
Located in a national park, it is the longest beach in Margarita (22 kilometers). It has waves and with many shells under the sand. You can reach it by land, through the Macanao peninsula or by boat, through the mangroves of La Restinga. Definitely an "absolute must".

Situé dans un parc national, c'est la plage plus longue de Margarita. Grandes vagues. Le sous-sol est formé par des coquillages. On peut s'y rendre par terre, en entrant para la Péninsule de Macanao ou en bateau, à travers les canaux de La Restinga. C'est une promenade obligée à Margarita.

Playa La Pared
Very nice beach, not known at all. Located north of the peninsula of Macanao. No facilities and almost nobody. A good choice if you want to be far from the crowds. There is a restaurant nearby.

Une très bonne plage, très peu connue et visitée. Au nord de la péninsule de Macanao. Sans vendeurs ambulants, ni parasols. Cependant il y a un restaurant dans la proximité.

Punta Arenas
For those who are looking for a good beach, nice sand, not so many waves, this is probably your best choice. The long trip from Porlamar (70 km) is definitely worth.

Pour ceux qui cherchent une bonne plage, tranquille, loin des foules, avec beaucoup de sable, cette plage est probablement le meilleur choix. Très loin de Porlamar (70 km), à l'extrémité de Macanao, cependant nous pensons qu'elle vaut bien le voyage.

El Yaque
Just behind the airport is located one of the best windsurfing spots in the world. The beach is not so crowded. No waves. Very pleasant, specially if you don't mind the wind. Recommended for small children, because it is not deep at all. Nice coconut and palm trees. Very good restaurants.

Juste derrière l'aéroport, un des meilleurs endroits au monde pour faire le windsurf. La plage n'est pas trop utilisé par les touristes locaux. Sans vagues, très agréable grâce aux cocotiers et au spectacle du windsurf. Recommandable avec des enfants petits, car la plage n'est pas du tout profonde. Très bons restaurants.

Coche
Although it is not located in Margarita, for many it's Margarita's best beach. White sand, blue see, nice breeze, not so crowded. If you don't want to stay in Coche, you can take a highly recommended "day tour".

Pour beaucoup la meilleure plage de Margarita (sans être à l'île de Margarita). Sable blanc, brise agréable, bleu clair, peu de gens. Leçons de Windsurf. Si vous ne voulez pas vous loger à Coche, vous pouvez vous y rendre pour un seul jour avec un "day tour" très intéressant, que je n'hésite pas à recommender.

The National Park Canaima is located to the end south west of Venezuela , to the south of the Orinoco River , municipality Gran Sabana of the Bolivar state, being decreed National park June 12, 1962 by the national executive.
The park, possesses 3 million Hectares, occupying this way the second protected natural area of more extension in Venezuela and the seventh of its size in the world.
The park is divided in two sectors: Western and Eastern.
The western area called Canaima, can be accessed by air with commercial Flights from Caracas , Margarita and Ciudad Bolivar .
